Ավարտվեց դարաշրջանը, երբ բնական գազն էժան էր: Bloomberg-ի փոխանցմամբ՝  երբեմնի հասանելի վառելիքի պահանջարկը զգալիորեն գերազանցել է առաջարկը և ամբողջ աշխարհում գների աճի պատճառ դարձել:

Գործակալությունը գրում է, որ վերջին տասնամյակում բնական գազը եղել է առատ և էժան: Բայց այժմ Միացյալ Նահանգներից Ավստրալիա մատակարարումների դադարեցման և Ասիայում պահանջարկի ավելացման ֆոնին, գները բարձրացել են: Եվրոպայում, օրինակ, 2020 թվականի մայիսից գազի վառելիքը թանկացել է հազար տոկոսով:

Բնական գազի գների բարձրացումն ի վերջո կազդի համաշխարհային տնտեսության բոլոր ոլորտների վրա և կբարձրացնի գնաճի ռիսկը: Սա հատկապես մեծ հարված կհասցնի աղքատ երկրներին, որոնց էներգետիկ քաղաքականությունը հարմարեցված է գազի համար, որը երկար ժամանակ պետք է մնար որպես էժան վառելիք:
