Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ողջունել է պարոն Զասի այցը Հայաստանը և նշել. «Մենք բարձր ենք գնահատում մեր անդամությունը ՀԱՊԿ-ում: ՀԱՊԿ-ը հանդիսանում է Հայաստանի անվտանգության համակարգի առանցքային տարրերից մեկը, որը  պատասխանատվության լայն գոտի ունի: Ցավոք, բավականին շատ վայրերում լարվածությունը մեծանում է: Եվ նաև այդ պատճառով մենք շատ լրջորեն պատրաստվում ենք կազմակերպությունում մեր նախագահությանը՝ կապված ոչ միայն այն մարտահրավերների հետ, որոնք ի հայտ են եկել մեզ մոտ վերջին ժամանակներում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության անվտանգության իմաստով, այլ նաև ավելի լայն իմաստով:

Կարծում եմ, որ այն մարտահրավերները, որոնք հիմա հայտնվել են ՀԱՊԿ պատասխանատվության գոտում, պետք է պատվով հաղթահարենք և լուծենք խնդիրները: Իհարկե, ցանկանում եմ ուշադրությունը հրավիրել հետևյալի վրա, որ ՀԱՊԿ-ն, առաջին հերթին կազմակերպություն է, որը խնդիրները լուծում է քաղաքական մեթոդներով: Իհարկե, այն ռազմաքաղաքական կազմակերպություն է, բայց, առաջին հերթին, դա նաև կանոնադրությամբ և այլ նորմատիվ փաստաթղթերով է նախատեսված, անհրաժեշտ է առավելագույն ջանքեր ներդնել, որպեսզի իրավիճակները, տարաձայնությունները և մարտահրավերները, որոնք հայտնվում են ՀԱՊԿ պատասխանատվության գոտում, լուծել քաղաքական մեթոդներով: Եվ կարծում եմ, որ կազմակերպությունն ի հայտ եկած խնդիրները քաղաքական մեթոդներով լուծելու շատ մեծ հնարավորություններ ունի: Անհրաժեշտ է, որպեսզի կազմակերպությունը և մենք որոշակի վճռականություն դրսևորենք այդ հարցերի նկատմամբ: Իհարկե, կոնկրետ իրավիճակներում նախատեսված են նաև գործողության շատ կոնկրետ մեխանիզմներ:
