ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը հրահանգել է վաճառել ռազմավարական պաշարից 50 միլիոն բարել նավթ՝ փորձելով զսպել վառելիքի գների աճը։ Ինչպես ասվում է Սպիտակ տան հայտարարության մեջ, «վաճառքը տեղի կունենա էներգակիրների սպառող այլ առաջատար երկրների, այդ թվում՝  Չինաստանի, Հնդկաստանի, Ճապոնիայի, Կորեայի և Միացյալ Թագավորության հետ զուգահեռ, հայտնում է BBC-ն:

Մինչդեռ երեքշաբթի կայացած աճուրդում նավթի գների աճը մեկ բարելի համար մինչև 81 դոլար վկայում է այն մասին, որ շուկայի սառեցման հույսերը դեռ չեն իրականանում։ Վերջին շաբաթներին նավթը շարունակում է թանկանալ, իսկ հոկտեմբերի վերջին ԱՄՆ-ում այն հասել է վերջին յոթ տարվա ամենաբարձր մակարդակին (մեկ բարելի համար 86 դոլարից ավելի):

Փորձագետները նշում են, որ ռազմավարական պաշարի մի մասը վաճառելու Բայդենի որոշումը կարող է միայն կարճաժամկետ ազդեցություն ունենալ շուկայի վրա, քանի որ նավթի գինը շարունակում է բարձրանալ մի քանի տարբեր գործոններով։ Դրանց թվում են տնտեսական վերականգնումը Covid-19 համավարակից հետո, ավանդական էներգետիկ ենթակառուցվածքներում ներդրումների բացակայությունը և վերականգնվող էներգիայի աղբյուրների դանդաղ զարգացումը։

Բայդենը բազմիցս խնդրել է ՕՊԵԿ-ին, որի անդամները վերահսկում են նավթի համաշխարհային պաշարների երկու երրորդը, ավելի արագ ավելացնել արդյունահանումը: Այնուամենայնիվ, կարտելը և նավթ արդյունահանող որոշ այլ երկրներ, այդ թվում՝ Ռուսաստանը, մտադիր չեն փոխել իրենց պլանները՝ օրական ընդամենը 400 հազար բարել արդյունահանման ամսական աճի վերաբերյալ։ Նրանք պնդում են, որ անիմաստ է ավելացնել արտադրությունը՝ համավարակի հերթական ալիքի վտանգի և պահանջարկի հնարավոր անկման պատճառով։
