2021 թվականին Մեծ Բրիտանիայի համախառն ներքին արդյունքը (ՀՆԱ) նախորդ տարվա համեմատությամբ 7,5  տոկոսով աճել է: Ինչպես փետրվարի 11-ին հայտնել է վարչապետ Բորիս Ջոնսոնը, Միացյալ Թագավորության տնտեսության աճի տեմպերը հաշվետու ժամանակամիջոցում եղել են ամենաբարձրը Յոթի խմբի (G7) երկրների թվում, որի մեջ են մտնում նաեւ Գերմանիան, Իտալիան, Կանադան, ԱՄՆ-ը, Ֆրանսիան եւ Ճապոնիան։

«ՀՆԱ-ի՝ այսօր (հրապարակված) ցուցանիշները հասատում են, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան եղել է 2021 թվականին ամենաարագ զարգացող տնտեսությունը G7-ում: Բրիտանացիների արտակարգ վճռականության եւ պատվաստման մեր վիթաքի ծրագրի շնորհիվ  տնտեսությունը թափով վերականգնվել է»,- գրել է կառավարության ղեկավարը Twitter-ում:

Միացյալ Թագավորության Ազգային վիճակագրական ծառայության՝ փետրվարի 11-ին հարապարակված զեկույցի համաձայն՝ անցյալ տարի երկրի տնտեսությունն ամբողջությամբ վերցված ցուցաբերել է ամենազգալի աճը 1948 թվականին հաշվետվություն վարելու սկզբից ի վեր: Սակայն չորրորդ եռամսյակում ՀՆԱ-ն երրորդ եռամսյակի համեմատությամբ ավելացել է սոսկ 1 տոկոսով, իսկ դեկտեմբերին նոյեմբերի համեմատությամբ կրճատվել է 0,2 տոկոսով՝ կորոնավիրուսի օմիկրոն շտամի տարածման ատճառով մի շարք հակաքովիդային սահմանափակումների ընդունումից հետո: 2020 թվականին արձանագրվել էր համավարակի հետեւանքով Մեծ Բրիտանիայի ՀՆԱ-ի ռեկորդային նվազում՝ 9,4 տոկոսով: Զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների գնահատմամբ՝ դա դարձել է այդ ցուցանիշի ամենախոշոր նվազումը 1921 թվականից ի վեր, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
