«ԱՐԱՐ» հիմնադրամի համահիմնադիր, հասարակական-քաղաքական գործիչ Ավետիք Չալաբյանի դեմ իշխանության նախաձեռնած բռնաճնշումները դասագրքային օրինակ են՝ ինչպես բռնապետությունը միջոցների մեջ խտրականություն չի դնում քաղաքական հակառակորդների դեմ պայքարում։ Գործը, որը «թխվել» է Ավետիք Չալաբյանի դեմ, իրականում ամենաանհեթեթն է վերջին շրջանում Հայաստանում հարուցված քրեական գործերից։

Տարածված ձայնագրության մեջ ակնհայտ է, որ Ագրարային համալսարանի ուսխորհրդի նախագահ Թոռնիկ Ալիյանն ինքն է սադրում, նախ, իր գործընկերոջը՝ դասախոս Էմմա Սարգսյանին, այնուհետև նաև փորձում է Ավետիք Չալաբյանին ներքաշել կեղտոտ պատմության մեջ։ Ի պատիվ Չալաբյանի՝ վերջինս ոչ միայն առանձնապես տուրք չի տալիս Ալիյանի սադրանքներին, այլև ձայնագրության մեջ էլ հստակ լսվում է, որ որևէ կերպ չի տրվում մանիպուլյացիայի, ընդամենը լսում է, թե ինչ զազրելի առաջարկ է իրեն անում Թոռնիկ Ալիյանը։ Այդ ձայնագրությունն իշխանական կայքերով տարածելուց հետո Ավետիք Չալաբյանին կալանավորեցին։

Հայաստանում շատերն են զարմանում, թե որն է կոնկրետ Ավետիք Չալաբյանի դեմ իշխանությունների անօրինակ դաժանության այս պատճառը, որովհետև շատ ավելի լուրջ մեղադրանքներով բազմաթիվ անձինք գտնվում են ազատության մեջ, իսկ Ավետիք Չալաբյանի նկատմամբ առանձնահատուկ վերաբերմունք է դրսևորվում փաշինյանական վարչախմբի կողմից։ Ըստ էության, հստակ է մեկ բան, որ գործող իշխանությունները վախենում են Ավետիք Չալաբյանից։ Նա, իհարկե, դուրս կգա բանտից։ Գործող վարչախմբին և նրա իրավական կամակատարներին չի հաջողվել և չի հաջողվելու որևէ կերպ մեղադրանք կարել հասարակական-քաղաքական գործչի նկատմամբ։

Հայաստանում քաղբանտարկյալներ անկախության շրջանում բազմաթիվ են եղել։ Շատերը տևական ժամանակ են անցկացրել ճաղերի ետևում, շատերն էլ արագ դուրս են եկել բանտից, Չալաբյանը նույնպես դուրս կգա, եթե ոչ վաղը, ապա շատ մոտ ապագայում։ Սակայն կմնա այն նստվածքը, որը կա հանրության շրջանում։ Միևնույն ժամանակ Չալաբյանը բանտից հոդվածների շարք է սկսել՝ ուշագրավ և արդյունավետ մեթոդներ ներկայացնելով Հայաստանի զարգացման առումով։ Այդ մեթոդներն արդեն ինքնին վկայում են, որ Հայաստանի գործող իշխանությունները արժեքային որևէ առնչություն չունեն ժողովրդավարության հետ, և հենց դա է փաշինյանական իշխանության անձնական վրեժխնդրության տողատակը։ Ժողովրդավարական կարգախոսներով իշխանության եկած Փաշինյանը վախենում է, որ հանրությանը կարող են իրական այլընտրանք ներկայացնել, և այդ դեպքում այս ապիկար իշխանության կարիքն այլևս չի լինի։
