Արդեն քանի օր է՝ ֆեյսբուքյան օգտատերերի շրջանում մի նամակ է շրջանառվում, որը գրել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի մտերիմ ընկեր Վահե Վարսանյանը։ Այդ նամակում նա հայտնում է, թե տեղեկացել է, որ Արա Չալաբյանին, ով Կենտրոնական բանկի կորպորատիվ ծառայությունների դեպարտամենտի ղեկավարն է, կանչել են ԿԲ նախագահ Մարտին Գալստյանի մոտ, ասել, թե աշխատանքից ազատման մասին դիմում գրի, այլապես աշխատանքից ազատվելու դիմում պետք է գրի ինքը՝ Մարտին Գալստյանը.

«Հաշվի առնելով Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հետ վաղեմի մոտ հարաբերությունները, նույն օրն էլ դրա մասին գրեցի նրան՝ ակնկալելով պատասխան: Մամուլում ևս եղել էին այս թեմայով հրապարակումներ, սակայն հերքում չէր եղել: Մինչև չորեքշաբթի որևէ պատասխան չստանալով՝ այսօր զանգահարեցի նրան: «Նամակը կարդացել եմ: Բեր էդ հարցը չքննարկենք»,- պատասխանեց Փաշինյանը: «Բա եթե էս հարցը չքննարկենք, ուրիշ ի՞նչ հարց քննարկենք: Սենց  չեղավ, դրա համար չէինք 18 թվին իշխանություն փոխում»: Նա շարունակում էր նույն բանը՝ «Բեր էս հարցը չքննարկենք, բեր էս հարցը չքննարկենք»: Փաստորեն, չեղած տեղը, Ավետիք Չալաբյանի նկատմամբ անազնիվ  ձևով գործ սարքեցին, բավական չէ, հիմա էլ ընկել են եղբոր հետևից»,- ասվում է նամակի մեջ:
 
Սահմանադրագետ, իրավաբան Վահե Գրիգորյանի խոսքով` Ավետիք Չալաբյանն այն ընդդիմադիր գործիչներից մեկն է, ով տուժում է տեղի ունեցող ապօրինություններից.
 
«Չալաբյանը տուժում է այնպես, ինչպես տուժեց, օրինակ, Արմեն Գրիգորյանը՝ հայտնի ազգասեր պրոդյուսերը, ով մահացավ դատական նիստերի դահլիճում, ինչպես Գյումրիի դեպքով երիտասարդները, ովքեր անօրինական կերպով զրկված են ազատությունից և այդպես շարունակ։
 
Իշխանությունների ամբողջ նպատակն է ճնշել բոլոր հնարավոր ակտիվ և որոշակի ուժ ունեցող ընդդիմադիր գործիչներին։ Դա կլինի Ավետիք Չալաբյանը, թե Դիմադրություն շարժման ակտիվ երիտասարդները և ակտիվիստները, ովքեր աչքի են ընկնում կազմակերպչական կարողություններով»։
