Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանը ճանապարհեց ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակ Նենսի Փելոսիին:

Հիշեցնենք, որ Փելոսին պաշտոնական այցով Երևան էր ժամանել սեպտեմբերի 17-ին։ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակին ուղեկցել են ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի Էներգետիկ և կոմերցիոն հարցերով հանձնաժողովի նախագահ Ֆրանկ Փալոնեն, Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի անդամներ Աննա Էշուն եւ Ջեքի Սփիերը։

Սեպտեմբերի 18-ին  ՀՀ ԱԺ նախագահը և ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի նախագահը հանդես են եկել հայտարարությամբ:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակը նշել է. «Երբ մենք որեւէ երկիր ենք գնում, մեզ համար կարեւոր է անվտանգությունը: Չգիտեինք, որ մեր այցը կհամընկնի ռազմական գործողություններին հաջորդող օրերին: ԱՄՆ-ում հպարտանում ենք, որ շրջապատված ենք հայրենասեր հայերով, որոնք նաեւ մեր քաղաքացիներն են: Նրանք մեր ուժն են, մեր ամբողջության կարեւոր բաղադրիչը»։

Սեպտեմբերի 18-ին Վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը կառավարությունում ընդունել է ԱՄՆ Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակ Նենսի Փելոսիի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը:

Հանդիպմանը Նենսի Փելոսին նշել է. «Շատ շնորհակալ եմ, պարոն վարչապետ, ողջույնի ջերմ խոսքերի և այս պատվիրակության անդամ իմ գործընկերների կողմից կատարված հսկայական աշխատանքի գնահատման համար: Աջակցությունը ժողովրդավարությանը Հայաստանում, Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման բանաձևը, հակազդեցությունը Թուրքիային Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հարցում, և բոլոր մնացած առումներով մենք Հայաստանի ընկերն ենք։ Մենք այստեղ ենք՝ հարգելով Ձեր կառավարությունը։

Անցած տարի տեղի ունեցան ընտրություններ, որոնք գնահատվեցին ազատ և արդար, և Ձեր հրաշալի հաղթանակը պատերազմի և այլ հանգամանքների պայմաններում։ Եվ բանը նրանում է, որ երբ մենք սովորաբար այցելում ենք որևէ երկիր, դա հարգանք դրսևորելու, լսելու և սովորելու նպատակ է ունենում, բայց ես կարող եմ անկեղծորեն ասել, որ ԱՄՆ-ից Հայաստան եկած այս պատվիրակությունն իր հետ բերել է Ամերիկայի ժողովրդի սերը, հարգանք՝ Ձեր կառավարության և սեր՝ Հայաստանի ժողովրդի հանդեպ»։

Փելոսիին հյուրընկալել է նաև ՀՀ խաշտպանության նախարար Սուրեն Պապիկյանը, ով ներկայացրել է ադրբեջանական լայնածավալ ռազմական ագրեսիայի հետևանքով ստեղծված իրադրությունը:

Նենսի Փելոսին իր խոսքում ներկայացրել է իրավիճակի վերաբերյալ ԱՄՆ դիրքորոշումը:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել են նաև պաշտպանական ոլորտում երկու երկրների համագործակցությանն առնչվող մի շարք հարցեր:
