Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը պատրաստ է Ուկրաինայի հարցում միջնորդի դերում հանդես գալ, սակայն Արևմուտքը խոչընդոտում է հակամարտության կարգավորմանը։ Այս մասին ՏԱՍՍ-ին տված հարցազրույցում հայտարարել է Վատիկանում Ռուսաստանի դեսպան Իվան Սոլտանովսկին։

«Հատուկ ռազմական գործողության մեկնարկից հետո մենք Հռոմի պապից ստացանք առաջարկ՝ միջնորդելու ուկրաինական կողմի հետ երկխոսություն հաստատելու հարցում, ինչը բազմիցս հնչեցվել է հետագայում։ Իրական խոչընդոտը բանակցությունների անհրաժեշտության մերժումն է ինչպես ուկրաինական իշխանությունների կողմից՝ արտահայտված Ռուսաստանի հետ բանակցությունների օրենսդրական արգելքով, այնպես էլ հավաքական Արևմուտքի կողմից, որը խելագարորեն զինում է Կիևի ռեժիմը ժամանակակից զենքերով՝ դրանով իսկ դրդելով նրան շարունակել ռազմական արկածախնդրությունները»,- նշել է դիվանագետը։

Նա ընդգծել է, որ Սուրբ Աթոռը ճգնաժամի հենց սկզբից «չեզոք և հավասարակշռված դիրքորոշում է որդեգրել»։

«Մենք գիտենք, որ Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը չի ընդունում ռազմական գործողությունները։ Մենք բարձր ենք գնահատում նրա ջանքերը՝ ուղղված կայուն և արդար խաղաղության հաստատմանը»,- հավելել է ՌԴ դեսպանը։

Ինչպես պարզաբանել է Սոլտանովսկին, Արևմուտքի ապակառուցողական քաղաքականության համատեքստում Վատիկանի հետ Մոսկվայի երկխոսությունը կենտրոնացած է «հատուկ հումանիտար խնդիրների լուծման վրա, առաջին հերթին՝ Հռոմի պապի հատուկ բանագնաց կարդինալ Մատեո Զուպիի հետ միասին»։

«Սուրբ Աթոռի կարծիքով՝ հումանիտար ոլորտում հաջողությունները կարևոր են ոչ միայն ինքնին, այլև խաղաղության ճանապարհներ գտնելու և երկրների միջև առնվազն նվազագույն վստահությունը վերականգնելու համար առավել բարենպաստ միջավայր ստեղծելու տեսանկյունից»,- ասել է դեսպանը:
