Արևմուտքն ակտիվացնում է ջանքերը հայ-ադրբեջանական հակամարտությունները կարգավորելու և այդ պատրվակով` Ռուսաստանին Հարավային Կովկասից դուրս մղելու համար։ Բրյուսելում կայացած եռակողմ հանդիպումից հետո, Փաշինյանը երեկ հեռախոսազանգ է ունեցել Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Օլաֆ Շոլցի հետ, քննարկել են հակամարտության կարգավորման ուղիները։
 
Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը Գերմանիայի կանցլերին հայտնել է, թե Հայաստանը պատրաստ է գնալ լուծումների Պրահայում, Բրյուսելում և Գրանադայում` համաձայնեցված սկզբունքների հիման վրա. անընդունելի է համարել այդ սկզբունքները աղավաղելու ցանկացած փորձ։
 
Հատկանշական է, որ Փաշինյանն ընդգծում է միայն Արևմուտքի միջնորդությամբ ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունների , այլ ոչ Ռուսաստանի միջնորդությամբ ընդունված պայմանավորվածությունների մասին, ինչը հերթական անգամ վկայում է, որ Հայաստանի իշխանություններն էլ շահագրգռված են ռուսական հարթակը դուրս թողնելու և ամբողջությամբ Արևմուտքի ողորմածությանը հանձնվելու հարցում։
 
Իսկ ո՞րն է պատճառը, որ հենց Օլաֆ Շոլցին է զանգահարել։ Գերմանիայում շաբաթներ առաջ տեղի էր ունեցել Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի արտգործնախարարներ` Արարատ Միրզոյանի և Ջեյհուն Բայրամովի հանդիպումը։
 
Ըստ էության, Ֆրանսիան այլևս կորցրել է անաչառ միջնորդի իր դերը՝ ակնհայտ հայամետ դիրքորոշում ձևակերպելով։ Միացյալ նահանգներն էլ ցանկանում է զբաղեցնել վերին արբիտրի դերը, հատկապես` Ռուսաստանին դուրս մղելու գործողությունների արանքում, չի ուզում «կեղտոտել» իր ձեռքերը, փոխարենը, որպես միջնորդ առաջ են մղում Գերմանիայի դերը, այդ կերպ տպավորություն ստեղծելով, թե Արևմուտքը շահագրգռված է պահպանել նաև Հայաստանի շահերը։
 
Գործող փաշինյանական վարչախումբը հրաշալի հասկանում է արևմտյան այս տեխնոլոգիան, սակայն դա իրեն ևս ձեռք է տալիս. այս փուլում առնվազն մեկ խնդիր ունի լուծելու, ոչ այնքան հակամարտությունը կարգավորելու և Ադրբեջանի ու Թուրքիայի հետ համաձայնության հասնելու, այլ հենց Ռուսաստանին տարածաշրջանից դուրս մղելու, իսկ դրանից հետո արդեն սեփական ցանկություններն ու հովանավորների պահանջները կատարելը` ընդամենը տեխնիկայի հարց է դառնալու։
