Գերմանիայի և Ֆրանսիայի իշխանությունները համաձայնության են եկել այլ գործընկերների հետ մշակել հեռահար զենք՝ ուժեղացնելու Եվրոպայի պաշտպանունակությունը։ Այս մասին ասված է փաստաթղթում, որտեղ ամփոփված են երկու երկրների ղեկավարների մասնակցությամբ Անվտանգության և պաշտպանության գերմանաֆրանսիական խորհրդի նիստի արդյունքները։

Փաստաթղթում նշված չէ, թե կոնկրետ ինչ տեսակի զենքի մասին է խոսքը, բայց Գերմանիայի զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցները գրում են, որ խոսքը կարող է վերաբերել գործողության հեռահար շառավղով հրթիռներին։

«Ֆրանսիան և Գերմանիան գործընկերների հետ միասին կտան երկարաժամկետ, համապարփակ և ներառական համագործակցության մեկնարկը հեռահար զենքի ոլորտում, որը կուղեկցվի Եվրոպայի ռազմարդյունաբերական բազայի ամրապնդմամբ՝ հասնելու մեր ռազմական հնարավորությունների բարելավմանը», - փաստաթղթից հատված է մեջբերում ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

Փաստաթղթում շեշտը դրվում է Եվրամիության ռազմարդյունաբերական համալիրի ամրապմդման անհրաժեշտության վրա։ Մասնավորապես, նշվում է  պաշտպանական արտադրության մեջ «կարիքները լրացնելու» և այլ երկրներից կախվածությունը նվազեցնելու անհրաժեշտությունը։

Մայիսի 28-ին Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը բանակցություններ է վարել Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Օլաֆ Շոլցի հետ և ավարտել իր եռօրյա այցը Գերմանիա։ Բանակցություններին ընդառաջ՝ Մակրոնը հայտարարել էր, որ Շոլցի հետ հանդիպման արդյունքում կընդունվեն «պատմական որոշումներ», որոնք կնպաստեն «Ուկրաինայի պաշտպանության» նպատակներին  հասնելուն, ինչպես նաև «Եվրոպայում պաշտպանության և անվտանգության ապահովման միասնական մեխանիզմի ստեղծմանը»։
