«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Հնարավոր չէր աշխատել այն պայմաններում, երբ անընդհատ նահանջի հրամաններ ես ստանում, երբ թշնամու դիպուկահարների կրակոցների պարագայում պատասխան կրակ չբացելու հրաման ես ստանում, չգերեվարելու հրաման ես ստանում: Այս մասին ասում է ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար, գեներալ-մայոր Արշակ Կարապետյանը՝ խոսելով այն մասին, թե ինչու չստացվեց իր աշխատանքը Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի հետ:

Նրա խոսքերով, անհնար է աշխատել ավանտյուրիստի հետ, մի մարդու հետ, որը միայն «կրուտիտ անելով» է զբաղված, որը մակարդակ չունի միջազգային դաշտում: «Ոնց կարելի է աշխատել այդ անգրագետի հետ»,-ասում է Կարապետյանն ու հավելում, որ Փաշինյանը արտաքին դաշտում ոչինչ չի որոշում: Ըստ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարարի, ԱՄՆ-ն ու Ռուսաստանը կնստեն, որոշում կկայացնեն նաև այն հարցում, թե որտեղ է լինելու Հայաստանը, կկանչեն, կտեղեկացնեն: Չի համաձայնի, ուրեմն Հայաստան էլ չի լինի:

Արշակ Կարապետյանն ասում է,որ ինքն ու Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը լրիվ տարբեր կերպ են տեսնում Հայաստանի ապագան: «Ըստ այդմ, բնական է, որ չէինք կարող աշխատել իրար հետ: Ես մեր երկրի անվտանգային ապագան տեսնում եմ Ռուսաստան-Հայաստան-Իրան բլոկի մեջ: Ես էլի եմ ասել՝ մեր բանակը չի կարող լինել ամենաուժեղը, բայց մենք կարող ենք լինել ամենակարող ազգերից մեկը, այդ թվում՝ ռազմական ոլորտում»:

Պաշտպանության նախարարը նաև այլ փակագծեր է բացում: «Երբ ինձ ցանկանում էր աշխատանքից ազատել, ասաց, որ մեկ ամիս հանգստանամ, ապա ինձ այլ պաշտոն կառաջարկի: Ես ասացի, որ իր հետ աշխատելու չունեմ»,-պատմում է Կարապետյանը...
