ԱՄՆ ազգային հետախուզության տնօրեն Թուլսի Գաբբարդը հրապարակել է ավելի քան 230,000 էջ փաստաթղթեր, որոնք վերաբերում են սևամորթների քաղաքացիական իրավունքների պաշտպան Մարտին Լյութեր Քինգի սպանությանը։ Փաստաթղթերն ընդգրկում են նախկինում գաղտնազերծված նյութեր և ներքին գրություններ, որոնք կազմում են ՀԴԲ-ի իրականացրած հետաքննության հիմնական մասը, հայտնում է ria.ru-ն:

Գաբբարդի գրասենյակի հաղորդագրության համաձայն՝ փաստաթղթերի հրապարակումն իրականացվել է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հրամանագրի համաձայն։

Չնայած հրապարակմանը, Քինգի կենսագրության մասնագետները նշել են, որ նոր փաստեր գրեթե չկան։ Առավել կարևոր հսկողության և գաղտնի հետևման նյութերը ՀԴԲ-ի կողմից դեռևս կմնան գաղտնի առնվազն մինչև 2027 թվականը, քանի որ դատարանը մերժել էր ԱՄՆ արդարադատության նախարարության՝ դրանք վաղաժամ բացելու միջնորդությունը։

Մարտին Լյութեր Քինգը 1964 թվականին արժանացել էր Խաղաղության Նոբելյան մրցանակի՝ ԱՄՆ-ում ռասայական խտրականության դեմ ոչ բռնի պայքարի համար։ Նա սպանվել էր 1968 թվականին՝ բանտից փախած հանցագործ Ջեյմս Էրլ Ռեյի կողմից։

Ավելի վաղ Թրամփի վարչակազմը հրապարակել էր նաև Ջոն Քենեդիի և Ռոբերտ Քենեդիի սպանությունների վերաբերյալ գաղտնազերծված փաստաթղթերը։
