Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը երեկ գործողությունների ծրագիր է հրապարակել, որով պատրաստվում է ոչ միայն կաթողիկոսին փոխել, այլև Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու կանոնագիրքը։ Իր ծավալուն գրառման մեջ Փաշինյանը մի ամբողջ շարք պնդումներ է անում, որոնք ոչ միայն հակաօրինական են, այլև հակասում են Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու ներկայիս կանոններին։ Մասնավորապես, պնդում է, թե կաթողիկոսին Վեհարանից հեռացնելու և փիլիոնազրկելու պարագայում կաթողիկոսական տեղապահ լինելու է որևէ ամուսնացյալ քահանա, որը չի հավակնելու կաթողիկոսի դերին։ Եկեղեցական կանոնով քահանան տեղապահ չի կարող լինել, և ընդհանրապես, տեղապահ նշանակում է, եթե կաթողիկոսը գահից հրաժարվում է կամ վախճանվում։ Ներկայումս երկուսն էլ տեղի չեն ունեցել։

Փաստացի իր այս հայտարարություններով Փաշինյանը ոտնձգություններ է իրականացնում ոչ միայն Ամենայն հայոց կաթողիկոսի, այլև Հայ առաքելական եեղեցու, նրա կանոնների, դարերով ձևավորված ավանդույթների դեմ։ Ինչի վերաբերյալ էլ պարբերաբար հայտնում են ընդդիմադիրները, եկեղեցականները և պարզապես հասարակ մարդիկ, որոնց համար Փաշինյանի պնդումները, թե ինքը Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու հավատավոր հետևորդ է և պայքարում է եկեղեցու բարեվարքության համար, իրականում կեղծ են և սուտ։


Ուշագրավն այն է, որ Հայ առաքելական եկեղեցու դեմ Փաշինյանի այս գործողությունները ծանր հետևանքներ են ունենալու թե իր և թե Հայաստանի Հանրապետության համար, ուստի զարմանալի չէ, որ արդեն 2-րդ անգամ Փաշինյանին ուղերձով դիմել էր Հայաստանի առաջին նախագահ Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանը՝ նշելով, որ հնարավոր արյունահեղության միակ պատասխանատուն հենց Փաշինյանն ու իր թիմակիցներն են լինելու։ Ինչպես և սպասելի էր, գործող իշխանություններն իսկական վայնասուն են դրել Լևոն Տեր-Պետրոսյանի կոչի վերաբերյալ, ընդ որում փորձում էին վերջինիս մեղադրել անսկզբունքայնության մեջ, թե «ազգակործան պատուհաս» արտահայտության փոխարեն օգտագործել է «մեծարգո պարոն վարչապետ» արտահայտությունը, մինչդեռ Տեր-Պետրոսյանը դեռ ժամանակին նշել էր, որ հանուն սեփական երկրի և եկեղեցու պատրաստ է բախել ցանկացած դուռ, միայն թե արյունահեղություն թույլ չտա։

Թե երբ է Փաշինյանը պատկերացնում իր կազմակերպած հավաքը և Վեհարան արշավելը, գործող իշխանությունները չեն հայտնում։ Ավելին, մի քանի անգամ մամուլում տարածված տեղեկությունները տարբեր օրերի և ժամերի վերաբերյալ չեն հաստատվել։ Արդյո՞ք Փաշինյանը որոշել է չեղարկել իր որոշումը, ըստ ամենայնի, ոչ, քանի որ հենց երեկ է հրապարակել գործողությունների ծրագիրը։ Ըստ երևույթին, Փաշինյանն այս հարցում որոշել է գնալ մինչև վերջ, վա-բանկ խաղալ և դրա համար ռեսուրսներն է հավաքում իր հանցավոր ծրագիրն իրականություն դարձնելու նպատակով։
