Միացյալ Նահանգներում ՀՀ դեսպան Նարեկ Մկրտչյանը դեռ չի հասցրել ստանձնել իր պարտականությունները, բայց արդեն հայտնվել է սկանդալի կենտրոնում իր եղբոր պատճառով։ Երեկ հայտնի դարձավ, որ ձերբակալվել է վերջերս Նարեկ Մկրտչյանի եղբայրը՝ Մկրտիչ Մկրտչյանը։

Նախօրեին պարեկները Փարաքարում ստուգման նպատակով մեքենա են կանգնեցրել, բայց դրան հետևել է ուղևորի փախուստը, ով նաև ճանապարհին ատրճանակ և փոշենման զանգված է նետել։ Մկրտիչ Մկրտչյանը եղել է մեքենայի ղեկին, ձերբակալվել է և տեղափոխվել ոստիկանության Վաղարշապատի բաժին։ Ներքին գործերի նախարար Արփինե Սարգսյանը լրագրողներին ասել է, թե Մկրտչյանի մոտ արգելված իր չի հայտնաբերվել։

Մամուլում լուրեր տարածվեցին, որ ատրճանակն ու փոշենման զանգվածը եղել են հենց Մկրտիչ Մկրտչյանի մոտ, ով իրեն կանգնեցնելու պահին այդ իրերով պայուսակը փոխանցել է ուղևորին։ Եվ այժմ իշխանություններն ամեն գնով ուզում են կոծկել գործը, Մկրտչյաններին «չոր» հանել այս պատմությունից, որպեսզի դեսպանի վրա սև բիծ չմնա։ Նահանգներում չափազանց ուշադիր են նման դրսևորումներին, առավել ևս որ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմը պատերազմ է հայտարարել թմրանյութերին, և Հայաստանի դեսպանին առանձնապես լուրջ չեն ընդունի Վաշինգտոնում, եթե ընտանիքի անդամը թաթախված լինի թմրանյութերի մեջ։ Իսկ այժմ իրավապահները Փաշինյանի հրահանգով պետք է այնպես անեն, որ դեսպանի եղբորը «չոր» դուրս բերեն այս գործից։
