Հայաստանի իշխանությունները, ըստ փորձագետների և քաղաքական շրջանակների, հայտնվել են խիստ ծանր և խայտառակ իրավիճակում։ Երկրում խոսքի ազատության սահմանափակումները, զանգվածային ձերբակալությունները և ընդդիմադիրների նկատմամբ քաղաքական հետապնդումները փաստում են, որ ժողովրդավարության մասին խոսելը պարզապես անիմաստ է դարձել։

Ժողովրդավարությունը Հայաստանում փաստացի ավարտվեց այն պահից, երբ 2022 թվականին գործող իշխանությունը ստորագրեց փաստաթուղթ, որով Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը, ըստ էության, ճանաչեց Արցախը Ադրբեջանի մաս։ Այդ քայլով իրավական հիմք ստեղծվեց Բաքվի համար՝ ոչնչացնելու Արցախը և ցեղասպանության ենթարկելու արցախահայությանը։ Դա ոչ միայն ազգային ողբերգություն էր, այլև ժողովրդավարական սկզբունքների բացարձակ ժխտում։

Այսօր իշխանությունը շարունակում է ներկայացնել իրեն որպես «ժողովրդավարության բաստիոն», բայց իրականում այդ բաստիոնից մնացել է միայն «ոն» վերջավորությունը։ Պատմությունը ցույց է տվել, որ մարդկության ամենադաժան և ամենազազրելի իրադարձությունները հաճախ իրականացվել են հենց «ժողովրդավարության» քողի ներքո։ Հայաստանում նույնպես այս իշխանությունը ժողովրդավարության անունով իրականացնում է ամենաանօրինական և հակաժողովրդավարական գործողությունները՝ սկսած քաղաքական հակառակորդների դեմ հետապնդումներից մինչև անկախ դատարանների, մամուլի և եկեղեցու ճնշումներ։

Փաստորեն, երկիրը հետևողականորեն հանձնվում է արտաքին ուժերի քմահաճույքին՝ մասնավորապես թուրք-ադրբեջանական տանդեմի ազդեցությանը։ Այս իշխանությունը գործակցում է այդ տանդեմի շահերի շրջանակում՝ ակնկալելով դրա դիմաց ստանալ քաղաքական աջակցություն առաջիկա ընտրություններում։ Թուրքիան և Ադրբեջանը ակնհայտորեն շահագրգռված են Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանության պահպանմամբ, քանի որ նրան դիտարկում են որպես պատմական հնարավորություն՝ վերջնականապես փակելու հայկական հարցը։

Այս ամենի ֆոնին պարզ է դառնում՝ Հայաստանում ժողովրդավարությունը դարձել է ձևական բառ, իսկ իշխանությունը՝ արտաքին շահերի սպասարկու։ Քաղաքացիների ձայնը լռեցվում է, եկեղեցին ենթարկվում է ճնշումների, իսկ ազգային ինքնությունը՝ խեղաթյուրման։ Եվ եթե այս ընթացքը չկասեցվի, ապա Հայաստանը կանգնած է ոչ միայն ժողովրդավարության, այլև պետականության կորստի վտանգի առաջ։
