Հայաստանի քաղաքական դաշտում կրկին նկատվում է իշխանական եռուզեռ․ ՔՊ-ում ակտիվ պատրաստվում են 2026 թվականի ընտրություններին՝ թե՛ հերթական, թե՛ հնարավոր արտահերթ սցենարով։ Քաղաքական շրջանակներում արդեն խոսվում է վարչապետի հնարավոր առաջադրման մասին՝ այն դեպքում, երբ Հայաստանի պատմության մեջ երբեք չի եղել երրորդ ժամկետ, և դա ոչ միայն իրավական, այլև բարոյական սահման է ժողովրդավարական հասարակության համար։

Այսօր Հայաստանում ժողովրդավարության մասին խոսելը վերածվել է ձևականության։ Երբ բիզնեսմեն Սամվել Կարապետյանին, սրբազաններին, եկեղեցականներին և համայնքապետերին ձերբակալում են միայն այն պատճառով, որ նրանք չեն հանդիսանում իշխող կուսակցության անդամներ կամ չեն կիսում իշխանության գաղափարախոսությունը, խոսել ազատությունների մասին՝ ծաղր է։ Այս ամենը տեղի է ունենում այն դեպքում, երբ Եվրոպական երկրների ներկայացուցիչները լուռ են, և իրենց լռությամբ կարծես օրհնում են այն բռնությունները, որոնք գործադրվում են իրենց իսկ հռչակած ժողովրդավարական արժեքների հաշվին։

Գործող իշխանության պահվածքը ոչ միայն խաթարում է երկրի ներքաղաքական հավասարակշռությունը, այլև վտանգում է ազգային ինքնության հիմնասյուները։ Հայ եկեղեցին՝ դարերով ժողովրդի հոգևոր, ազգային ու բարոյական պահապանը, այսօր հայտնվել է քաղաքական ճնշումների թիրախում։ Իշխանությունը փորձում է ստեղծել իր ենթակայության եկեղեցի՝ խեղաթյուրելով հավատքի և ինքնության սրբությունը։

Այս իրավիճակում ակնհայտ է դառնում՝ եթե այս ուղին շարունակվի, Հայաստանը կհայտնվի խորացող ճգնաժամի մեջ։ Երրորդ ժամկետի գաղափարը միայն իշխանության պահպանում չէ, այն պետականության և հասարակության ապագայի վրա ուղղված հարված է։ Երբ իշխանությունը կորցնում է իր սահմանները և փորձում է հավերժանալ, ժողովուրդը մնում է մենակ՝ առանց պաշտպանների, առանց հավատքի, առանց արժանապատվության։

Ժամանակն է հասկանալու՝ երրորդ ժամկետը ոչ թե իրավական, այլ ազգային-բարոյական գիծ է, որը չպետք է հատվի։ Հայաստանի պատմությունը միշտ պատժել է այն իշխանություններին, որոնք փորձել են հավերժացնել իրենց իշխանությունը ժողովրդի հաշվին։
