Վաղարշապատում սպասվող ընտրություններից ընդամենը երկու օր առաջ գործող իշխանությունը կանգնած է հերթական ծանր պարտության շեմին։ Նախնական տեղեկություններն արդեն իսկ վկայում են, որ «Քաղաքացիական պայմանագրի» թեկնածու Արգիշտի Մեխակյանը նույնիսկ չի մոտենում 30 տոկոսի շեմին՝ խորացնելով խուճապը ՔՊ շտաբում։ Այս իրավիճակում իշխող ուժը փորձում է սեղմել վարչական լծակների պտուտակները՝ դպրոցների, մանկապարտեզների, պետական հիմնարկների աշխատակիցների նկատմամբ նոր ճնշումներ կիրառելով։

Սակայն այս աղմկոտ քաոսի հիմքում շատ ավելի խորքային պատճառներ են։ Վաղարշապատի բնակիչների դժգոհությունը կուտակվել է ամիսներով․ բնակարանային և կոմունալ ծառայությունների անկազմակերպ վիճակը, վարչական դաշտում եղած անպատասխանատու վերադասավորումները, տնօրենի ազատման սկանդալային պատմությունը և այն, որ Մեխակյանն անգամ չպաշտպանեց իր օգտին քարոզած պետական աշխատակիցներին, վերջնականապես ամրապնդեցին պատկերը՝ ՔՊ թեկնածուն ոչ միայն անկարող է, այլև վտանգավոր է համայնքի կայունության համար։

Այս անվստահությունը սոսկ անձնական չէ։ Քաղաքացիական պայմանագրի ցանկացած թեկնածու այսօր Վաղարշապատում հիշատակվում է որպես հակահերոս՝ որպես պաշտոնական գործիք, որի նպատակը ոչ թե համայնքի զարգացումն է, այլ իշխող ուժի վերահսկողության ընդլայնումը։ Դրա համար էլ բնակիչների արձագանքը կանխատեսելի է․ բացահայտ մերժում, որը գնալով ավելի համակարգային է դառնում։

ՔՊ շտաբի ներսում խուճապի չափաբաժինը մեծանում է այնքան արագ, որքան նվազում է Արգիշտի Մեխակյանի վարկանիշը։ Արդյունքում իշխանությունն անցել է ավելի կոշտ գործողությունների։ Մարզում շրջանառվում են տեղեկություններ պետական ոլորտի աշխատակիցներին հարկադրաբար ձերբակալելու, աշխատանքից ազատման սպառնալիքների, ինչպես նաև ընտրությունների օրը էլեկտրաէներգիայի անջատումների մասին։ Այս մեթոդները ոչ միայն չեն փրկում իրավիճակը, այլ խորացնում են ժողովրդի զայրույթը՝ ցույց տալով իշխանության իրական դեմքը՝ վախեցած, անկառավարելի և վստահությունը կորցրած։

Բայց կա մեկ հանգամանք, որը դարձավ վերջին կաթիլը։ Տարածվող տեղեկությունը, թե իշխանությունը ընտրություններից հետո նախատեսում է Հայոց Եկեղեցու հոգևոր մայրաքաղաքի կարգավիճակը Էջմիածնից տեղափոխել Հովհաննավանք, Վաղարշապատում ընկալվեց ոչ միայն որպես սրբության դեմ ուղղված քայլ, այլ որպես ազգային ինքնության վրա հարված։ Այն համայնքի բնակիչների միահամուռ որոշման գլխավոր շարժառիթն է դարձել՝ մերժել Քաղաքացիական պայմանագրի թեկնածուին։

Վաղարշապատի ընտրությունները վաղուց դադարել են լինել տեղական նշանակության։ Դրանք վերածվել են վստահության հանրաքվեի՝ ընդդեմ իշխանության քաղաքական վարքագծի, դրա անպատասխանատվության և վտանգավոր նախաձեռնությունների։ Քվեարկության արդյունքները, ըստ ամենայնի, կդառնան հերթական ապացույցը, որ հասարակությունն այլևս չի պատրաստվում հանդուրժել ՔՊ-ի պարտադրած սխեմաները, ճնշումները և ինստիտուցիոնալ ավերումը։

Եթե որևէ համայնք կարող էր դառնալ իշխանության հակաժողովրդական քաղաքականության վերջին կանգառը, ապա դա Վաղարշապատն է։ Իսկ տեղի բնակիչների որոշումն այսօր ցուցադրում է ոչ միայն համայնքի, այլ նաև ամբողջ երկրի քաղաքական տրամադրությունը։
