Tesla-ն բանակցություններ է վարում խոշոր չինական արտադրողների հետ արևային վահանակների արտադրության սարքավորումներ մատակարարելու համար, գրում է mobile-review.com–ը: Suzhou Maxwell Technologies-ը, որը մասնագիտացած է արևային մարտկոցների համար էկրանային տպագրության համակարգերի մեջ, կարող է լինել հիմնական գործընկեր: Այլ պոտենցիալ մատակարարների թվում են Shenzhen SC New Energy Technology-ն և Laplace Renewable Energy-ն: Էլոն Մասկի հետաքրքրությունը այս ոլորտում բխում է նրա ծրագրերից, այն է մինչև 2028 թվականի վերջը ԱՄՆ-ում տեղակայելու 100 ԳՎտ արևային հզորություն, որը կօգնի բավարարել տվյալների կենտրոններից և այլ արդյունաբերական օբյեկտներից էլեկտրաէներգիայի աճող պահանջարկը:

Այս ծրագիրն իրականացնելու համար Tesla-ն նախատեսում է արտադրական գծեր ներմուծել Տեխաս մինչև այս աշուն: Սարքավորումները անհրաժեշտ են ԱՄՆ-ում անմիջապես հումքից ստացված արտադրանքի ամբողջական արտադրական շղթա ստեղծելու համար: Չնայած ներմուծումից ընդհանուր կախվածությունը նվազեցնելու ջանքերին, ամերիկյան ընկերությունները դեռևս կարիք ունեն Չինաստանից բարձր տեխնոլոգիական հաստոցների, քանի որ այլ տարածաշրջաններում ներկայումս գործնականում չկան նմանատիպ հզորությամբ այլընտրանքային մատակարարներ: Նախկինում ԱՄՆ իշխանությունները նման սարքավորումները ազատում էին ներմուծման մաքսատուրքերից՝ տեղական գործարաններին աջակցելու համար:

Մասկը բազմիցս է հայտարարել, որ արևային էներգիան կարող է լիովին բավարարել երկրի էներգետիկ կարիքները: Ներկայումս արևային էներգիան կազմում է ԱՄՆ-ում արտադրվող ընդհանուր էներգիայի մոտ 10%-ը, բայց Tesla-ի հավակնոտ նախագիծը կարող է զգալիորեն փոխել այս ցուցանիշը: Բացի ընկերության սեփական էլեկտրաէներգիայի մատակարարումից, արտադրված էներգիայի մի մասը նախատեսվում է օգտագործել SpaceX արբանյակային համակարգը սնուցելու համար: Նոր պայմանագրերը կօգնեն չինացի արտադրողներին լուծել ներքին շուկայի գերբեռնվածության խնդիրը, իսկ Tesla-ն կարագացնի կանաչ էներգիայի արտադրության մեթոդներին անցումը հզորությունների պակասի պայմաններում։
