AraratBank Stands with My Forest Armenia to establish Charles Aznavour Forest

True to its social responsibility, AraratBank joins the initiative of My Forest Armenia by supporting the establishment of Charles Aznavour Forest. As a general sponsor of the charitable concert to be held on November 18, the Bank contributes to this unique project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the legendary artist, aimed at creating a 100-hectare area of forest.

In commemorating Aznavour's centennial, we're not just planting trees – we're nurturing a living monument that will grow and thrive, echoing the enduring impact of this legendary artist.  This piano evening will undoubtedly serve as a cornerstone in our ambitious vision to establish a 100-hectare green tribute," noted Mher Ananyan, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of AraratBank.

"Charles Aznavour wasn't just an artist; he lived with universal concerns that were constantly reflected in his songs and interviews. Thus, in the song “La terre meurt” (The Planet is Dying), Charles Aznavour addresses Earth's pollution by humans and other environmental issues. As bearers and disseminators of his values, we at the Aznavour Foundation are convinced that environmental initiatives are extremely important and urgent. We enthusiastically accepted the idea of establishing the Charles Aznavour Forest and made the first investment. We hope that other organizations and individuals will also join this initiative," noted Kristina Aznavour, Executive Director of the Aznavour Foundation.

The concert will take place at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on November 18 at 19:30. Renowned pianist Hayk Melikyan will perform a special program including pieces by Georgi Gurdjieff and Leos Janacek and a few improvisations on Aznavour’s music. The concert will feature a new piece specially created for the occasion by a young composer Elen Yolchyan "Mysteries of the Forest".
